Snap's Head of Growth Jacob Andreou to Join Greylock as General Partner

Jacob Andreou, Snap's former head of growth and longtime product head, is leaving the company after eight years to join Greylock as a General Partner. Andreou announced his transition plans on Twitter, stating that he would be leaving Snap in May to focus on partnering with the "next generation of consumer founders."


During his time at Snap, Andreou held various roles, including Design Engineer, Vice President of Product, Director of Product and Growth, Director of Growth, and most recently, Senior Vice President of Growth. As part of a broader reshuffling of Snap's executive team, Andreou was tasked with overseeing Snapchat's monetization products, growth operations, and data science.


In his departure announcement, Andreou expressed his gratitude to the Snap team and CEO Evan Spiegel for the "honor of a lifetime" and the opportunity to help build such an impactful product. He also mentioned his interest in consumer technology, particularly the influencer and creator market, and other AI startups.


Before joining Snap, Andreou co-founded and led product at analytics platform ThinkAkili. He has also done some angel investing while at Snap, including in startups like In Search Of and creator app Captions.AI, which was founded by former Snap employees. At Greylock, Andreou will be able to focus on investing in consumer tech companies, including those in the influencer and creator market.
